SEPTICAL BIODIGESTER (BZN FIX MODEL)

Two types of fixed-film reactors may be considered;

  • those in which the medium is held in place and is stationary relative to fluid flow
  • those in which the medium is in motion relative to the wastewater

From the anaerobic digestion chamber the effluent enters the reaction chambers where countless bacteria lodged onto the fixed film reactor breakdown the waste. This fixed-film reactor is so designed to ensure that the system works even in the most difficult conditions of overloading, flooding and toxic shock. It also ensures low sludge wastage reducing sludge removal to minimum thereby saving costs.

ADVANTAGES OF A FIXED FILM REACTOR

  • The fixed Film Reactor combines aerobic, anaerobic and anoxic zones and increases the Sludge Retention Time, promoting better nitrification compared to simple suspended growth systems
  • System nitrification is also restored faster since a large mass of nitrifiers is retained on the fixed-film
  • Improved process stability
  • In various studies it has been noted that the Sludge Volume Index (SVI) improves and has less variation when FFS upgrades are implemented
  • Reduced Sludge Production
